Akafuji (red Fuji) is a phenomenon in which Mt. Fuji is dyed red by the morning sun, mainly from late summer to early autumn.
Because of its fleeting beauty, it has been the object of many artists and photographers from ancient times to the present day. Among them, Katsushika Hokusai's ukiyo-e "Fine Wind, Clear Weather" is famous.
Red Mt.Fuji is rarely seen, so it is said that those who see it will be protected from misfortune and have their wishes come true, such as prosperous business.
In Japan, the crane has long been considered an auspicious bird as a symbol of longevity, prosperity, and good luck. As evidence of this, it often appears in proverbs, folk tales, works of art, and customs.
